WELCOME TO THE ELDER FLOWER
The Elder Flower empowers those longing for recovery with free tools to live an abundant life.
We don’t just recover here, we build beautiful lives. Maybe you are curious about starting a recovery journey from substance use, disordered eating, anxiety, depression, burnout, smoking, perfectionism, work, physical or sexual violence, systems of oppression, neurodivergence, grief, cancer, codependency or whatever it is you are healing from. We believe that you don’t have to identify as your problem to be here, nor do you have to reach a “rock bottom” to begin a reclamation of your good heart. Welcome, you belong just as you are!
THE MISSION
A SOFT PLACE TO LAND
At The Elder Flower, we’ve cultivated a nurturing environment where people from all walks of life can find belonging in their recovery journey; live in our classes, workshops, adventures and virtually from home.
We are a regenerative business. We provide free resources and classes and paid offerings, too. After we pay our teachers, studio maintenance and creators fairly, we invest profits back into building more free resources like The Elder Flower Podcast, live yoga, workshops and the Sharing Circle Blog. We offer scholarships for every paid offering we do, as well as work trade at the equivalent of a living wage. We see ourselves like a coral reef, supporting each other to thrive. If you purchase a workshop, you can feel good knowing yours is an investment in other women. We are all grateful you are here!

I’M JEN, YOUR NEW RECOVERY FRIEND
I am a storyteller, connector & creator. I am in recovery from a host of things, including substance use, PTSD, ADHD, disordered eating, perfectionism, codependency & burnout.
I love to bring people together, and I am co-creating a place where we can tap into the wild of nature, share in all eight limbs of yoga practice, find our voices and connect.
I am obsessed with topics of Belonging and Community, fascinated by the work of teachers like Joanna Macy (The Work That Reconnects), Father Richard Rohr and Mark Nepo. I want to be an elder in my community who holds it gently, reconnects us to the wild, and supports its recovery with fervour and compassion. I have connected with others with the yearning for connection, belonging and recovery too! This project started in my house, but it continues to be moulded and informed by every person who practices here: students, teachers, herbalists, gardeners, artisans and musicians: working together to heal our land and our hearts. Welcome to the Elder Flower, we’re growing something special!

“I met this beautiful gem of a human being through the yoga community in Nelson. She invited me out to her peaceful home and sanctuary to nerd out on all things yoga and nerd out we did. We spoke of our unique experiences and shared all the colourful parts of our lives that brought us to practice (the good, the bad, and the ugly).
Being the gift that she is to this world, I've been invited on many occasions, along with other wonderful creatures to participate in yoga for recovery, bhakti yoga, and other healing offerings.
I cannot rave enough about this wonderful woman. She is a dedicated teacher and forever student who shares her practice with humility, courage, and generosity. If you are curious about connecting with her and the community we've been building no need to hesitate. You will be welcomed with unconditional love, non-judgment, and a warm embrace (flaws and all). She has created a space that is nourishing and safe! Sincerely grateful to have such a genuine and inspiring teacher and friend. She is one of a kind!”

The Sharing Circle
Our stories dispel shame and help us realize that we have so much in common. They remind us how much we’ve grown, and show us that we are in this together.
Here are some of mine. Here are some of hers. Perhaps, you might share one of yours.
